B98 ACADEMY AND B97 ACADEMY TEAMS ARE FINALISTS IN NATIONAL CUP!

It was an exciting day in Ventura, CA on Sunday, May 17th when both the Attack B98 and B97 Academy teams played in the finals of National Cup!  Each team overcame injury and adversity to make it to the Finals and RSF Attack could not be prouder of these fine young men and their awesome accomplishments throughout the season!

The Attack B98 Academy team, coached by Paul Dougherty, were undefeated through both Round 1 and Round 2 of National Cup.  They defeated Oxnard in the Round of 16; they beat the National Champions in the Quarterfinals; they won against their home-town rivals the Surf in the Semi-finals, finally to fall to WCFC in the championship game.  What an incredible run!

Attack B98 Academy Team with coach Paul Dougherty

The Attack B97 Academy team (Co-coached by Evan McNeley and Malcolm Tovey) had a bye into Round 1 and were undefeated through the second round.  They won in PK's against the HG Eagles in the Round of 16; defeated LA Galaxy Bakersfield in the Quarter finals; won again in PK's against DMS 11 in the Semi-finals, finally losing to Santa Barbara SC White (the reining back-to-back National Champions) in PK's 4-3.  It was a heart breaker, but both teams played a beautiful game of soccer!
